Sincerely, Your Space

Delete your account

Two ways, both free, both final. This page is for the app Sincerely, Your Space by the operator of sincerelyyourspace.com.

Before you start: cancel any subscription

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription you bought through Apple or Google. Those run on your Apple or Google account, not on ours, so cancel there first: on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, the Play Store → your profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions. The support page walks through both. If you paid for a household, it stays subscribed until the end of the period you already paid for.

In the app

  1. Open the You tab.
  2. Tap Delete account, at the bottom.
  3. Read what it says and confirm.

That is it. The deletion happens on our server while you wait, and the app signs you out. There is no waiting period and nothing to confirm by email.

By email

If you cannot open the app, write to [email protected] from the email address you sign in with, with the subject "Delete my account". We reply to that address to confirm it is you, then delete the account within seven days and tell you when it is done. If you signed in with Apple's private relay address, write from any address and tell us the display name and a household you were in, and we will confirm another way.

What is deleted

Reminder settings never leave your phone, so they go when the app is uninstalled.

What stays, and why

Deleting some data without deleting the account

You can leave any household from its screen in the app, which removes you from it the same way. For anything else that is yours alone and that you want removed while keeping the account, write to [email protected] from your sign-in address and say what.

Backups

Deletion is immediate in the live database. We take occasional full copies of the database for disaster recovery; a deleted record can persist in such a copy until that copy is replaced, and we do not restore copies to bring deleted accounts back.
